Over half of our current year five cohort applied for a leadership position in 2018. This is an amazing achievement and testimony to our outstanding students here at Bli Bli.
At Bli Bli State School, we
believe that all Year 6 students – our senior year – play a vital role in the
leadership of our school. Our goal is
for our elected leaders to be students who have the necessary qualities for
them to carry out their special and sometimes demanding responsibilities. Therefore, all Year 5 students were invited
to be a part of the selection process in striving to secure a school leadership
position for 2018.
Over
the past few weeks, over half of our current year 5 cohort applied for a
range of the leadership positions via a written application. These were studied
by a panel including our current year 5 and 6 teachers, Specialists teachers
and myself. Children who met the requirements then presented a speech to their peers
which led to voting. The voting was completed by children in year 4 and 5, as
well as school staff. The children with the highest number of votes moved
through to an interview panel, which will occur in the coming week.
We wish all of the applicants the best of luck and look forward to announcing our 2018 student leaders at an upcoming assembly.
