At Bli Bli State School, learning extends beyond the classroom. Camps, excursions and incursions provide students with authentic, hands-on experiences that deepen learning, build confidence and create lasting memories.
These experiences are carefully selected to complement classroom learning, strengthen student engagement and provide opportunities for students to develop independence, teamwork, resilience and real-world connections.
Throughout their primary school years, students participate in a range of academic, cultural, environmental, sporting and leadership experiences that enrich the curriculum and support their personal growth.
Payment plans are available to support families with participation in school programs and events.
School Camps
Our Year 5 and Year 6 camp programs are a highlight of the primary school experience and provide valuable opportunities for students to develop independence, responsibility, teamwork and leadership skills.
Year 5 Camp
Year 5 students participate in a camp at a local venue where they engage in a range of outdoor, team-building and personal development activities.
Year 6 Camp
Year 6 students attend a three-day, two-night camp at a different venue, providing new challenges and experiences as they prepare for the transition to secondary school.
These camps help students build confidence, strengthen friendships and create lasting memories with their peers.
Excursions and Incursions
Students across all year levels participate in excursions and incursions that bring learning to life and provide meaningful connections between classroom learning and the wider world.
These experiences are linked to curriculum learning and may include environmental studies, history, science, cultural experiences, sporting activities and community partnerships.
Examples of past learning experiences have included visits to:
- Maroochy Wetlands Sanctuary
- Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve
- Bankfoot House
- Mooloolah River and Foreshore environments
Chambers Island
Students also benefit from visiting performers, presenters, cultural groups and specialist educators who bring unique expertise and experiences directly to our school.
Water Safety and Surf Education

Swimming Program
Students in Prep to Year 4 are offered the opportunity to participate in an annual swimming and water safety program delivered by qualified instructors at Cotton Tree Aquatic Centre.
Surf Skills Program
Students in Years 5 and 6 participate in surf education and beach safety programs delivered by qualified Surf Life Saving instructors at local beaches.

Creating Memorable Learning Experiences
At Bli Bli State School, we believe some of the most powerful learning occurs when students step beyond the classroom. Camps, excursions and incursions provide opportunities for students to connect learning to real-life experiences, build relationships and develop the confidence and skills needed to thrive both at school and beyond.
