More than 125 Years of Community, Learning and Belonging
For more than 125 years, Bli Bli State School has been at the heart of the local community, providing generations of children with a high-quality education while helping shape the story of Bli Bli itself.
We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land on which our school stands, the Kabi Kabi (Gubbi Gubbi) people, and recognise their continuing connection to Country, culture and community. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging.
Bli Bli Provisional School first opened in 1901, serving the children of a small rural community built around farming and the Maroochy River. While the school began with modest facilities, it quickly became an important gathering place where education, community and opportunity came together.
As the district continued to grow, so too did the school. In 1936, Bli Bli State School relocated to its current School Road site, where it has continued to educate and support generations of local families for almost ninety years.
Over the decades, the school has evolved alongside the changing Bli Bli community. From its early agricultural roots through to the thriving Sunshine Coast community we know today, the school has remained a place where children are encouraged to learn, grow and belong.
Today, Bli Bli State School is a vibrant Prep to Year 6 school that combines contemporary teaching practices with a strong sense of tradition and community. While our classrooms, facilities and approaches to learning have continued to evolve, our commitment to providing every student with the very best educational opportunities has remained constant.
In 2026, we proudly celebrated our 125th anniversary, bringing together students, staff, former students, families and community members to honour the many people who have contributed to our school's story. The celebration recognised not only our proud history but also the enduring partnerships and shared values that continue to make Bli Bli State School a special place to learn.
As we look to the future, we remain committed to building on this proud legacy by providing a caring, inclusive and future-focused education that prepares every student to thrive in an ever-changing world. Guided by our values of Community, Commitment, Character and Creativity, we continue to honour our past while embracing the opportunities of tomorrow.
